BR-CO-26

Error (blocking) EN 16931 (UBL)EN 16931 (CII)

Official rule text

[BR-CO-26]-In order for the buyer to automatically identify a supplier, the Seller identifier (BT-29), the Seller legal registration identifier (BT-30) and/or the Seller VAT identifier (BT-31) shall be present.

What it means

At least one machine-readable seller identifier must be present: BT-29 (seller identifier), BT-30 (legal registration, e.g. SIREN) or BT-31 (VAT identifier). In UBL that means cac:PartyIdentification/cbc:ID (an ID with schemeID=SEPA does not count), cac:PartyLegalEntity/cbc:CompanyID or cac:PartyTaxScheme/cbc:CompanyID under the supplier party - a seller described only by name and address fails.

How to fix it

Emit the seller's company register number in cac:PartyLegalEntity/cbc:CompanyID (BT-30) or its VAT number in cac:PartyTaxScheme/cbc:CompanyID (BT-31); any one of the three BTs satisfies the rule.

Business terms involved: BT-29BT-30BT-31
