Terms of Service

1. Operator

NormDrift is operated by Romain Hoareau, French sole trader (entrepreneur individuel), registered with the Évry Trade and Companies Register (RCS Évry 888 902 954), 7 rue des Provinces, 91410 Dourdan, France. Publication director: Romain Hoareau. VAT not applicable, art. 293 B of the French General Tax Code. Contact: romain@normdrift.com. Hosting: Cloudflare (EU-jurisdiction storage) and Contabo GmbH, Germany (validation compute).

2. The service — and what it is not

NormDrift validates e-invoices against official rulesets (Peppol BIS, XRechnung, EN 16931, Factur-X, FR CTC), re-validates your reference corpus on every official ruleset release — current and upcoming — and alerts you on regressions, with an API and status badge.

Validation results are a development aid, not legal, tax or accounting advice. Results are produced by the official rulesets referenced on each report, as published by their issuing bodies. They do not guarantee acceptance of any document by any platform, network, authority or counterparty, nor compliance with any legal obligation. You remain solely responsible for your invoicing compliance.

3. Business use only

The service is reserved for professionals acting in the course of their business (B2B). Consumer-protection provisions, including withdrawal rights, do not apply.

4. Account

Authentication uses single-use e-mail links — no passwords. You are responsible for the security of your e-mail inbox and for every action taken through your account. Notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access. One account may belong to one organisation; you warrant that you are authorised to bind it.

5. Plans, prices and billing

• Plans and quotas are described on the pricing page. Prices are in euros; VAT not applicable (art. 293 B CGI — should this status change, prices will be adjusted with 30 days' notice).
• Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed in advance through Stripe, renewed automatically until cancelled. Plan changes and cancellation are handled through the billing portal; changes are prorated by Stripe. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period — no refund of the current period, except where the law requires otherwise.
• If a payment fails, we notify you and retry; the service stays available during a reasonable grace period, after which the account may be downgraded to Free.
• Beta commitment: the first 20 paying teams keep a lifetime 50% discount on the listed prices for as long as their subscription remains active. This survives the end of the beta.

6. Acceptable use

You must not: submit documents you have no right to process; attempt to access other tenants' data; scrape or overload the free validator or circumvent quotas, rate limits or anti-bot protections; resell the service without written agreement; use the service to build a directly competing validation-monitoring product; or disrupt the infrastructure. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach, with notice where practicable.

7. Your data

Your documents remain yours. You grant us the limited licence strictly necessary to operate the service (store encrypted, validate, compute results, alert). We process personal data contained in your documents as your processor under the DPA. Deleting a document, a project or your account hard-deletes the corresponding data immediately. Files submitted to the free validator are processed in memory and never stored.

8. Availability and support

The service targets high availability but is provided without a contractual SLA. Planned maintenance and upstream provider incidents may cause interruptions. Support is provided by e-mail (romain@normdrift.com) on a reasonable-effort basis. Ruleset coverage follows the official sources; a release may add, change or withdraw rules at any time — tracking that drift is the point of the service, not a defect of it.

9. Intellectual property

The service, its software, site content and rule explanations remain the operator's property. Official rulesets and rule texts belong to their respective issuing bodies (OpenPeppol, KoSIT, CEN, FNFE-MPE…). The status badge and API may be used as documented for your own projects.

10. Warranties and liability

The service is provided « as is », without warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by French law, the operator's total aggregate liability for all claims in any 12-month period is capped at the amounts you paid for the service during those 12 months (or €100 for Free accounts), and indirect damages — lost profits, lost business, lost data recoverable from your own originals — are excluded. Nothing limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury.

11. Termination

You can stop at any time: cancel through the billing portal and/or delete your account (Billing → Danger zone), which hard-deletes your data per §7. We may terminate Free accounts inactive for over 12 months, or any account for material breach of §6, with 30 days' notice except in cases of serious abuse. Upon termination, sections 2, 7, 9, 10 and 12 survive.

12. Changes, law, jurisdiction

We may amend these terms with 30 days' notice on this page (material changes also by e-mail); continued use after the effective date is acceptance. These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the operator's registered office (commercial court of Évry), notwithstanding plurality of defendants or third-party claims. If a provision is held invalid, the rest remains in force.
