BR-CO-03

Error (blocking) EN 16931 (UBL)EN 16931 (CII)

Official rule text

[BR-CO-03]-Value added tax point date (BT-7) and Value added tax point date code (BT-8) are mutually exclusive.

What it means

You may send the VAT point date as an explicit date (BT-7) or as a code (BT-8), never both. In UBL the pair is cbc:TaxPointDate vs cac:InvoicePeriod/cbc:DescriptionCode, two elements that live far apart in the document - which is exactly why generators emit both without noticing.

How to fix it

Keep either BT-7 (cbc:TaxPointDate) or BT-8 (cac:InvoicePeriod/cbc:DescriptionCode with UNTDID 2005 code 3, 35 or 432) and remove the other.

Business terms involved: BT-7BT-8
